DownSizing is used in automotive to increase the efficiency of the engine and to reduce fuel consumption. But since the customer gets provided an engine with similar performance compared to its predecessor, which leads to a higher specific capacity performance.
This results in a higher thermal load of the cylinder head and the crankcase as well as the adjacent components. Our methods of the engine cooling consider the relevant components as well as the entire cooling circuit. For this purpose we use the method 3D FLOW SIMULATION.
In addition to that, the heat input in the combustion chamber and adjacent flow regions is needed. In the automotive the thermostat regulates (right), the connection of the vehicle cooler, this functionality is included in our method.
